Shanghai Pujiang River Source Scenic Spot
Shanghai Pujiang River Source Scenic Spot is the starting point of Shanghai’s mother river, Huangpu River, also known as “Zero Kilometer of Huangpu River”. The Xietang River and Yuanxiejing Creek, which meander from Jiangsu and Zhejiang, converge here to form a delta-shaped treasure land and flow into Huangpu River through Hengliaojing Creek. At the confluence of the three rivers, the river is vast, the sailboats in the river competing for the current, the nets rising and falling by the river, the reeds on the bund swaying, the pink peaches and green willows setting each other off. These breeds the endless scenery of a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, from which the scenic spot got its name “Pujiang River Source”. The whole scenic spot is divided into two parts: the aboveground part is “Shu-Liu-Li-Yun Pagoda” and “Chunshen Hall”, while the underground part is “Water Culture Exhibition Hall”. In the scenic area, the architectural style of cantilever beam and bucket arch exude classical charm, while the glazed tiles of French windows unfold modern fashion pleasure. The garden, blessed with local trees such as ginkgo, sophora, and weeping willow, displays a charming style of the south of the Yangtze River and shows the epitome of ancient Chinese traditional culture. Now it is a national 3A-level scenic spot.
